CHICAGO, January 9, 2014 — Three diets offer the best chance of helping you lose weight, say reviewers on Viewpoints.com. Each diet has won the Viewpoints Reviewers’ Choice award, recognizing exceptional products and programs based on the real world experiences of users.
To date, more than 250,000 people have shared more than 500,000 reviews of 37,000 everyday products, like diet plans, on Viewpoints.com, a leading consumer reviews and product rating service.
Viewpoints.com collected feedback from more than 2,500 reviewers, sharing the pros and cons of 52 well-known diets and weight loss programs. Both self-guided and group plans were award eligible, with winning diets requiring on overall rating at least 85/100.
Reviewers rated each diet based on: Effectiveness, Side Effects and Ease of Use, then explained what they liked and didn’t like about each one.
The Eat-Clean Diet by Tosca Reno (“Best Overall,” 91/100) is a self-guided series of diet books with recipes and workout tips Viewpoints reviewers call “life-changing” — earning a 9.3/10 for Effectiveness, the highest score of all diets on Viewpoints. Natural, unprocessed foods are central to the diet. “It is easy to read, has nice pictures and sends a clear message about eating foods as close to their natural state as possible and cutting out junk food,” summed up one reviewer. The series features “Eat-Clean” books catering to vegetarians, men and even kids.
Weight Watchers (87/100) also receives the Viewpoints Reviewers’ Choice award and is the highest-rated group diet program. Most of the 900 reviewers of the Weight Watchers method of counting points and group discussion like its combination of nutrition education and support. The United States Department of Agriculture nutrition guidelines known as MyPlate (ChooseMyPlate.gov – 87/100) receives praise from reviewers as a plan “realistic to sustain.”
